Berea, KY- The Berea College Sports Complex saw its first regular season home action of the 2017 season, as the men's soccer team had their first ever USA South conference game of the NCAA Division III era. The team welcomed the Greensboro College Pride, an East division team in the USA South, looking for their first win of the season.

The visiting Pride were able to get off to a fast start on offense as they were able to get a couple of corner kicks and shots off, but the Berea defense held strong and kept the ball out of the net. A shot by Issac Mendoza at the 19:55 went wide of the net and kept the game at a scoreless tie. The game looked like it was going to be without a goal from either team as halftime approached before a goal with less than two minutes before the buzzer gave Greensboro a 1-0 advantage in the intermission.

The opening minutes of the second half saw the score stay the same as the Mountaineers could not turn possession of the ball into offensive opportunities. Two goals four minutes apart by the Pride gave the visitors a 3-0 lead they never relinquished as they walked off the pitch with the win. Noah DeHart played the entire game in the net for Berea and finished the game with six saves on nine shots.

The next action for the Mountaineers comes against Spalding University when the Blue Crew welcomes the Golden Eagles to the Berea College Sports Complex. Kickoff is set for 8:00 PM on Wednesday and all the action can be seen here.
