Men's Soccer Selected Fourth in USA South West Division Preseason Poll

The Berea College men's soccer team has been picked fourth in the USA South Preseason West Division Coaches Poll which was released last week.

Berea took 10 points in the poll to tie for fourth with Huntingdon. Maryville was picked to win the West Division after winning the tournament in 2016. They took five first place votes while second place Covenant took one first place vote. Piedmont followed behind at third with 18 points while Lagrange followed Berea and Huntingdon in sixth with 7 points.

This is Berea's first year in the conference joining other new members Brevard College and Pfeiffer University. Brevard and Pfeiffer are not included in the polls as they are reclassifying from Division II and are not eligible for postseason play.

The Mountaineers open the season at home taking on Johnson & Wales University in an exhibition Saturday, August 26 at 1:00 p.m.
