Madisonville, Tennessee- The Berea College softball team played a double header against Hiwassee College this Saturday.
In the first game of the double header the Mountaineers started out slowly only scoring 2 in the game up until the seventh inning. The Tigers scored 2 as well up until the seventh inning which made the game go into the eighth inning. During the eight inning the Mountaineers came out hot scoring 4 runs while the Tigers only scored 1 run which ended the game.
Mountaineers won the first game of the double header 6-3 with a win on the mound for Jaqui Howard.
In the second game of the double header the Mountaineers started off hitting well scoring a couple runs in the first innings. The Tigers did not come out hitting strong. In the top of the seventh inning the Mountaineers led with 10 runs and to finish out the game the Tigers had 2 runs.
The Mountaineers won the game 10-2 against the Tigers. Markiara Smith picked up the win in the circle for the Mountaineers.
The Mountaineers head to Sewanee College tomorrow to play at 12 and 2.
